I came into this campaign with my eyes wide open and with an awareness of what I have signed up for. The physical, emotional, time requirements, and financial costs are recognized and understood. After the last national election, I am even more convicted that there needs to be representatives of the citizens who are leaders willing to serve their electorate….those willing to put “People over Politics”…that the fears, hopes, dreams, and issues of those in my district are more important than the politics of Lansing or the Republican Party.
Politicians concerned about becoming re-elected have trumped doing what is right for the citizenry, state, and country. I promise to hold to my convictions, and those of my constituents, regardless of the pressures that will come to bear.
In summary, I am running to help return this state to a conservative base that rewards hard work and strong moral character. We have drifted from the rugged individualism and firm convictions that this country was founded on. Faith, family, and financial independence from the government are no longer the foundation of many in this country and it is evident that many legislators have lost their way.
