People over Politics is a motto that applies directly to the political process and the role politicians need to assume, but rarely do. I am committed to putting the needs of the constituents first and never to forget whom I am responsible to. There are many characteristics of a citizen-politician whom lives by the motto of, “People over Politics”. I will be a leader who serves the people when I am elected as the State Representative for the 91st District.
People over Politics involves….
- A Calling: sacrificing my self-interest for the good of the 91st District and Michigan.
- Listening: hearing and valuing the concerns of the people of the 91st District.
- Empathy: understanding what is happening in the lives of those in the 91st District.
- Healing: being available to the 91st District especially during the “worst of times” and being able to advise them of available resources.
- Awareness: knowing what is going on in the 91st District and being willing to vote according to the needs of those I represent.
- Persuasion: offering citizens of the 91st District viable explanations for any requests I may have of them.
- Conceptualization: expecting citizens of the 91st District to communicate their visions and dreams willingly to me.
- Foresight: anticipating the future correctly and recognizing the possible consequences to the 91st District.
- Stewardship: helping the State of Michigan build toward a positive financial and social future for the citizens of the 91st District.
- Growth: empowering the individuals of the 91st District to develop and grow into a great subculture of Michigan.
- Building Community: creating an environment for the citizens of the 91st District to have a cooperative spirit.
