I am committed to putting “People over Politics” as I run to represent the citizens of the 91st District. My platform is built on the foundation of family and its core values. Strong family values ultimately leads to less government and lower costs.
- We need more jobs in Michigan. If you are unemployed, all other issues pale in comparison.
- The less the government is involved in our lives, the better. More government does not equal better government.
- Our business tax burden stifles economic growth and must be resisted. The Michigan Business Tax (MBT) must be eliminated.,
- The cost and availability of energy is a major concern for Michigan. The answer is in utilizing existing energy sources while also expanding the use of “clean” coal and nuclear energy (the true “green” source for energy).
- Michigan has to re-tool its manufacturing base and become a lean and efficient manufacturing state. This can be accomplished through “right to work” legislation and business-friendly legislation.
- Agriculture continues to be a large source of revenue for the state and it must be encouraged through legislation that is not restrictive to its growth.
- It should not be the goal of our local, state, or federal government to collect money from the citizens and redistribute those monies how it sees fit. It is our responsibility to help those in our community and have the state take care of collective issues such as road upkeep, the National Guard and citizen protection.
- Everyone has the God-given right to life…including all unborn and the elderly. Life is a right, not a choice.
- The way that our public service and teacher unions are compensated through health care and pensions needs to be examined at the legislative level. A Cadillac benefit package is not affordable in a state struggling to maintain a 10 year old Buick.
I am not a career politician and firmly believe that the 91st District Representative seat must be filled by someone who is elected “by the people” and works “for the people”.
